October 18: Resume & Job Hunting Workshop

Recently back from Japan? Been back for a while and looking for a new job? Fear not! Join this workshop run by Jillian Steele (Nayoro-shi ALT, 2007-2008) and learn some great tips to optimize your résumé and job hunting! 

Jillian has applied to thousands of jobs and has successfully been hired at the University of Calgary, Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, the Canadian Museum of Nature, CIHR and most recently employed by the University of Ottawa.

October 4: Senpai-Kohai JET Welcome Back Social

Join us for our annual Senpai-Kohai welcome back social! Returning JET participants will have the chance to talk to local JET alumni, ask about re-transitioning to Canadian life, and just chat about what it’s like to be a JET participant on the other side of the programme.

July 31: Trivia Night

JETAA Ottawa will be hosting its second Trivia Night! The theme is SUMMER!

Join us and test your knowledge in a variety of fields with fun quizzes! You may even have the chance to win one of our awesome prizes!

Up to $150 in food prizes to be given out! 

The rules will be announced at the event, but we encourage team participation. Teams with up to 3 teammates can join. But fear not! If you do not have a team, we will match you to one of the existing groups!

June 9 to July 28: JETAA Ottawa Japanese Classes (online)

Are you a JETAA member looking to continue your Japanese language learning journey? Come join your fellow JETAA members and study with us with a professional, native Japanese teacher.

The next period will be from June 9 to July 28, 2020.

The classes will be held online on Tuesdays. The format remains the same with a focus on Beginner to Intermediate skills from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Upper-Intermediate+ from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT ALUMNI WHO DO NOT SUBSCRIBE USING THIS FORM WILL NOT BE CONTACTED, AND THEREFORE WILL BE UNABLE TO JOIN. Please register only if you intend to attend.
