February 8: JETAA Board Game Day (And Karaoke Night!)

***Limited to JET alumni and plus-ones.***

Come escape the cold with us over board games at The Loft. With hundreds of games to choose from, including the very latest releases, you’re guaranteed to have a blast!

We’ll be taking a break for dinner and meeting up at Popstar Karaoke at 7 PM for another round of shenanigans. We’ve got the big room booked for two hours so everyone will have time to shine!

Board Game Day
Where: The Loft Board Game Lounge (2nd Floor, 14 Waller St)
When: 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (or as late as they let us stay!)

Karaoke Night
Where: Popstar Karaoke (382 Rideau)
When: 7:00 – 10:00

October 19: Welcome Back Social

The Welcome Back Social is a fun and casual get-together for newly returned or new-to-Ottawa JETs and other alumni! Come join us for good food, conversations and company! We’re also planning a karaoke session after from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.!

When: October 19 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: C’est Japon à Suisha ( 208 Slater St.)

October 8: Career Fair and Welcome Back Reception

JETAA Ottawa is once again co-hosting a Career Fair with the Embassy of Japan. The fair will be held on Tuesday, October 8 and will be followed by the official Welcome Back Reception. 

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS OPEN EXCLUSIVELY TO JET AND MEXT ALUMNI!

Career Fair
Date & Time: Tuesday, October 8, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Location: Embassy of Japan (255 Sussex Dr.)
Participating companies: Uniqlo, MUFG, Kintetsu International Express, Assent Compliance, Invest Canada, LRO Staffing, Autonomous ID, Gastops
Format: Each company will set up a booth. Guests will visit booths which they’re interested in. Each company will give a brief presentation at the beginning of the career fair. Bring your resume and meishi (business cards)!

Welcome Back Networking Reception
Date & Time: Tuesday October 8, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Location: Residence of the H.E. Ambassador Kimihiro Ishikane
Description: The annual Welcome Back JET Reception will welcome the 2019 JET Returnees back to Canada. Also present will be a maximum of 40 JET alumni, supporters of the JET Programme (professors, government officials, etc.), diplomats, etc. Food and drink will be served.
RSVP: Required – up to 40 on a first-come-first-serve basis, with priority given to Career Fair Attendees. Please email: president@jetaaottawa.ca

September 14: JETAA Toronto Yukata Summer Sunset Cruise

In celebration of historic year and the new Reiwa era, JETAA Toronto is planning a Yukata Summer Sunset Cruise in Toronto Harbour.
