Join the JETAA Ottawa Exec as we bring our “Japanese Cooking 101” class online for 2021! In this FREE event, we’ll be coming together through Zoom to cook two Japanese favourites with a Canadian-twist; Daifuku (mochi filled with sweet red bean paste) and “Maple-rashi” dango (sweet and savory dumpling skewers).
Buy your own ingredients and follow along in your own kitchen, or simply tune in for tips and tea with your JETAA friends. We’ll be starting at 4 pm ET and then breaking for a beverage to enjoy our treats and catch up following the session. You are welcome to tune in for the whole event, a single recipe, or just for tea as you’d like.

It’s the JETAA COVID-friendly take on dinner and a movie!
We’ll open up the Zoom room starting at 6:30pm for anyone who wants to chat and catch up in 日本語 or English and at 7:00pm we’ll take a break to watch KANPYO – Trails to Oishii Tokyo from the NHK Documentary series.

We’ve got a sure-fire solution to those winter blues… DINOSAURS! (RAWR!) Time to dust off those trowels and khaki pants and have a chat with the paleontologists at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology about some of the prehistoric creatures you might have seen prowling around the Japanese countryside if you were an OG (like really OG) JETAA.
This event will be hosted via Zoom, with one ticket required per connection/device. You will receive an email confirmation immediately upon purchase, links for the event will be sent out 24hrs before the event.

Are you a JETAA member looking to continue your Japanese language learning journey? Come join your fellow JETAA members and study with us with a professional, native Japanese teacher.
The next period will be from October 6 to November 24, 2020.
The classes will be held online on Tuesdays. The format remains the same with a focus on Beginner to Intermediate skills from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Upper-Intermediate+ from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
